The above-mentioned interventions have been widely implemented in the Himalayan region by Himmotthan over the last decade. In most places, the captured water is used for support irrigation for vegetable crops. The study is being conducted by team from PGS and runs in parallel to the wide research program on spring shed and drinking water sustainability being led by the IWMI-TATA Water Policy Research Program (IWMI-TATA Program).
Field visits were undertaken to Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Nainital and Almora districts in November and December 2025. The final report will be submitted in February 2026.
