Green Solutions begins Phase II Research under the Himalayan Water Partnership: Field visits were undertaken in May 2026 to Silkoti and Chureddhar villages in Tehri Garhwal P-Green Solutions has commenced a new research and action project, “Water Distribution Solutions for Dryland Agriculture in the Uttarakhand Himalayas,” supported by Himmotthan under the Himalayan Water Partnership. Building on an earlier IWMI-TATA/CEDAR study on the sustainability of water interventions for livelihoods, this Phase II effort studies traditional water-use and support irrigation practices in dryland agriculture, and pilots micro-irrigation systems such as drip and sprinklers to improve water-use efficiency for farmers across Nainital, Almora, and Tehri Garhwal districts.Field work is already underway: in May 2026, the team conducted field visits to Silkoti and Chureddhar villages in Tehri Garhwal to lay out drip and mulching trials, with capsicum being transplanted in the trial plots. Further site visits and data collection will continue through the rest of 2026.
